A 4th Dan Black Belt, Richard Griffin began training in Chayon-Ryu in 1971 in Houston, Texas, and trained directly under Grandmaster Kim Soo until 1988 when he moved to Kerrville, Tx where he trained and taught private lessons. Mr. Griffin began training at the Austin Branch of Kim Soo Karate in 2005. He served as Chief Instructor of the Spring Branch International Headquarters of Chayon-Ryu from 1977 to 1978 and served as Chief Instructor of the Austin Branch from 2006 to 2008.
